Sheppyfest apologizes after wifi issues cause queues of up to two and a half hours Bath City News

A Somerset festival has “deeply” apologized after its guests were forced to wait until two and a half hours for a number of bars and food outlets.

Sheppyfest, which took place at Sheppy’s Farm in Taunton, posted the statement on its Facebook page this morning (September 5).

The queues were caused by a faulty wifi, which stopped working around 2pm.

They said they underestimated that more than half of the attendees would arrive at the same time, which would lead to further problems.

The Facebook post said “We are deeply sorry for the problems some of our festival-goers have had with the lines for Sheppyfest’s Bar and food outlets. Unfortunately the WiFi system we were using.

“The number of participants was dictated by previous festival experience and health and safety recommendations.

“Unfortunately, the WiFi system we were using, which had been tested extensively throughout the week, stopped working at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. We can only apologize for the disruption this caused and we would like to hear from you. thank you all for your patience ”.

“Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have done our best using the advice and support of the licensing agencies to manage ticket sales within the limits of our approved capacity.”

Sheppyfest had seen a number of different artists such as Seth Lakeman and Tankus Henge come together to perform at the Sheppy Cider Farm just outside Taunton.

Despite the issues, feedback on the Facebook post was generally positive.

Visitors expressed their praise in the comments with a few happy guests expressing their enjoyment of the festival day.

One festival goer replied “I had a fantastic day and evening there. Thank you very much to the team for making it such a great day!”
