Cricketer Fynn Hudson-Prentice reveals where his Sussex team-mates go for coffee Brighton News

A COUNTY cricketer has revealed where he and his teammates go for coffee before a game.

Born in Haywards Heath, Fynn Hudson-Prentice joined Sussex County Cricket Club aged ten before being released in 2016.

But since returning to Hove last year, the 26-year-old has revealed his favorite cafes and restaurants in a segment on The Argus Podcast titled Five of the Best.

The full episode of The Argus Podcast featuring Fynn is now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

If you went for coffee and cake with an out-of-town friend, where in Sussex would you take them?

“For coffee and cake I would go to The Flour Pot bakery in Hove. They have a great selection and it’s a lovely cafe.

“If it’s just a coffee, I’d go to the Small Batch Coffee in Hove. They make great coffee and the guys here love it.

“We’re there pretty much every day.”

What is the best store in Sussex?

“My favorite clothing store, which I’ve been to quite often since coming back here, is a place called Peggs & Son.

“I love it. It’s alternative menswear, from designers, from all over the world. It’s my absolute go-to.

“But in Brighton there are so many amazing shops everywhere – it’s such an alternative place.”

Whether it’s for a concert, a comedy or a theatre, what is the best venue around?

“When I was younger, I always went to Concorde 2. There were a lot of people who came to play.

“The Kooks played there when I was younger, Rizzle Kicks when they were there, Ed Sheeran.

“I can’t say that I’ve been to many places since my return. It was a bit hectic.

If you’re looking to escape the city, what’s your favorite outdoor place to visit?

“I’m a big fan of walking. There are obviously the South Downs, which stretch for miles and miles.

“There are plenty of different walks with great views. That would probably be the place to go.

And finally, whether it’s for a drink or a sit-down meal, what’s the best bar, pub or restaurant in Sussex?

“If I went out to eat I would go to Fatto a Mano, which is just down the road from the ground.

“It’s a great Italian place. They have a few restaurants in the UK, but I love their food.

“Around Hove there are so many cool pubs and bars – Libation, The Gin Tub, Hove Place, Blind Busker.”
