Road closed as firefighters attend a house fire in Longhill Road, Brighton Brighton News

East Sussex Fire and Rescue is at a house in Longhill Road, where the roof is on fire.

Police have closed the road while crews work.

A fire service spokeswoman said: “The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are responding to a fire at a house in Longhill Road, Brighton.

“We were called at 1:34 p.m. today.

“As of 2.30pm we have teams from Roedean, Preston Circus and Newhaven on scene along with Brighton Aerial Ladder Platform and Lewes Command Support Unit.

“The fire affects the roof of the three-story building.

“Crews use breathing apparatus as well as jets and a thermal camera.

“Police are helping with the road closure and local buses are being diverted.

“There are no injury reports.”

The service urged people to avoid the area.
