Dancing On Ice fans unimpressed as live final delayed and replaced by football UK News

Dancing On Ice viewers have expressed their disappointment after the live finale was removed from TV programming.

ITV’s decision to show sport instead of its usual weekend shows prompted further backlash from viewers on Sunday, after Saturday night Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Starstruck were canceled and replaced with a rugby blanket.

As viewers tuned in to Dancing on Ice, they discovered the show had been replaced with live coverage of FA Cup Football. ITV’s decision was announced earlier in the month, but that didn’t stop fans from raging over the choice on Sunday night.

Taking to Twitter, some called out ITV for not airing the sports coverage on another channel, while others confessed they were bored enough without the show airing.

One fan wrote: “I don’t know what to do with my Sunday night without #DancingOnIce Another added: “Okay so they canceled Saturday night takeout last night and now they’ve canceled ice dancing on a weekend when my husband is away and I have a choice of TV for me. ”

A third person wrote: “Sport on Sunday night should not be allowed let alone on TV!!!” While another viewer wrote: “@dancingonice disgusting that sport is ruining TV for a lot of people. Turn on the TV for the programs you’ve been waiting for all week and what do you get…from sport.”

Another added: “Surely they could have put footy on any of the other 3 channels they have, instead of squeezing out DOI. Not impressed.”

The official Dancing On Ice Twitter had shared a message to fans reminding them of the schedule change earlier in the evening, adding that the final will take place next Sunday, March 27.

They wrote: “Remember we’re not on the weekend because of the footy but this gives our couples an extra week to train like never before and work on their amazing finishing routines!

“Who will get your vote when we return on Sunday, March 27?! We. Can’t. Wait.”
