54-year-old biker dies in fatal crash near Uckfield Brighton News

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a serious accident involving a car.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at Pound Hill, Framfield, near Uckfield shortly after 12.10pm on Saturday March 26.

Police confirmed that a 54-year-old man died in the crash.

“Unfortunately the motorcyclist, a 54-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene,” a police spokesman said.

The road was closed for six hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The police are also appealing for witnesses for the fatal accident.

“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage and has not made it known to police are asked to report it by emailing collision.appeal@sussex .police.uk or by calling 101, citing Operation Ansley,” the police spokesman added.

Last week, another biker died after an accident with a van.

Dan Kinsella, from Brighton, died in hospital following the crash of the A259 at Portslade on Wednesday March 16.

Despite the efforts of bystanders who performed CPR, the 25-year-old died of his injuries two days later.

A 34-year-old man from Southwick has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury and dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs over the specified limit.
