Mobile phones stolen in armed robbery in Crawley Brighton News

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following two armed robberies.

Officers were called to a robbery near Southgate Avenue in Crawley, near the junction with Hawth Avenue, shortly after midnight on Friday April 1.

Shortly after, police received reports of a robbery on Hawth Avenue near the junction with Furnace Drive.

The victims said they were threatened by a gunman before their mobile phones and other personal items were stolen.

Police said officers would carry out “high visibility patrols” in the area as investigations continued, progressed by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The thefts reportedly took place between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on Thursday, March 31.

The police are now appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who saw what happened, witnessed suspicious behavior in the area, or may have captured relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting the 004 series of 01/04.
