If you went for coffee and cake with an out-of-town friend, where in Sussex would you take them?

“I would probably take them to the Big Beach Café – is that cheesy? It’s not self-promotion, I’m just being honest.

“I do a lot of my business meetings, if there’s someone I meet and I don’t want them to come to my house, I’ll meet them at the cafe.

“I don’t sound my own trumpet, but I would go to the Big Beach Cafe.”

What is the best store in Sussex?

“I think my favorite is Canham and Sons Butchers in Hove because I love my cooking and I love the meat, the family who run it.

“They always educate me on animal parts and also make me laugh.”

Whether it’s for a concert, a comedy or a theatre, what is the best venue around?

“It was nice to go back to Concorde 2 the other night. We used to do Big Beat Boutique there.

“It still feels like my clubhouse, my second home – so many memories of what happened there.”

If you’re looking to escape the city, what’s your favorite outdoor place to visit?

“Forest Row, which is in Ashdown Forest and Hundred Acre Wood.

“This is where I hang out when I want to get away from the city.”

And finally, whether it’s for a drink or a sit-down meal, what’s the best bar, pub or restaurant in Sussex?

“My current favorite is Burnt Orange. Fabulous food, fabulous atmosphere.

“And a bonus show that I would really recommend – I went to see Stomp at the Old Market.

“He came back to Brighton and to see him in a lovely little theater like The Old Market I was absolutely blown away and almost moved to tears.

“I highly recommend everyone go see it.”
