After ending March with two draws, Ampthill started April with two away wins beating Kidlington reserves 1-0 on Saturday and claiming the league’s 21st win by the same scoreline at Langford on Wednesday.
The local derby at Forde Park was a slow burner in the first half, with neither keeper testing too much until late until Jamie Cerminara had a shot saved and Lawrence Burton wasted an opener after a good race.
But Town quickly took command in the second half when Jamie Cerminara collected a ball and beat his man to drill an angled shot home in the first five minutes of half.
Ampthill continued to dominate with Cerminara closing in and later forcing the keeper to save while Tom Beasley headed in from a free kick and Will Barrett was also just off target.
The hosts offered little threat up front and Town picked up six much-needed points in the week which took them back to third in the league. They are at home to Amersham on Saturday ahead of the clash with leaders Stotfold on Easter Saturday.
