Inside, the hooded dashboard and center display make way for a new curved display that resembles that of the new BMW iX. It combines a 12.3-inch screen for instruments and a 14.9on display for the infotainment functions in a single unit offering touch control and running BMW’s eighth-generation operating system.
A modified dashboard also gets new fan and switch units as well as a light strip with X7 graphics.
Further down there’s a new gear selector and iDrive controller in a revised center console.
Buyers can continue to choose a six-seat or seven-seat configuration. New upholstery options are also offered.
At the heart of the changes to the X7’s engine range is the introduction of BMW’s latest 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six petrol and diesel engines.
Each engine receives new 48V mild-hybrid properties via a crankshaft-mounted generator-starter integrated into the front section of the standard eight-speed automatic gearbox, equipping them with electric boost for increased performance and motor coasting functionality to improve overall efficiency. .
Output from the B58 petrol engine has increased by 50 hp and 52 lb-ft, giving the xDrive40i 375 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.
