A white BMW 330 saloon crashed at around 2.30am on the A548 in Bagillt, North Wales, police say. The five people were traveling in the vehicle, which collided near a gymnasium and other business premises.
Two occupants of the car died from their injuries and the other three are now hospitalized with serious injuries.
Emergency services remain at the scene, reports North Wales Live.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: ‘Officers attended the scene of a single vehicle traffic collision in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
“The collision happened near the junction of the A548 with the A5026 at Bagillt, and road closures have been put in place.”
“Unfortunately, two people have died and three others are currently hospitalized in serious condition.”
“Officers remain at the scene while our investigations continue, and the road will be closed until at least noon.”
“We are appealing to all witnesses or those with dash cam footage, who saw a white BMW 330 saloon traveling along the A548 towards Flint towards Bagillt, before 2.30am , please contact us.”
No other details about the passengers, including age and gender, have been released by police.
An air ambulance rushed to the single-vehicle collision.
A Wales Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We responded with two rapid response vehicles and five emergency ambulances.
“We were supported by a Wales Air Ambulance crew. We have no further details at this stage.”
Lyons Den Fitness Gym is closed today due to ‘structural damage’ believed to have been caused by the crash.
The road, which runs alongside the River Dee estuary, also remains closed while officers investigate the crash.
