Mr Farage said: “Rwanda is not working at all, and here is why.
“They have heard it over and over again, in Dunkirk and Calais, the British government is going to crack down.
“Repelled, remember that? Pushback, they’re going to turn around and push them back to France.
“This policy was dropped last week. All the other bloody crimes we’ve heard from Priti Patel and Boris Johnson have come to absolutely nothing.
“No one there believes that Rwanda will happen.”
Mr Farage doubled down on the message that conservatives must ensure that Rwandan policy is followed through if they are to stop the more dangerous and illegal crossings.
He continued: “If, and only if, these planes start flying out of Manston and taking hundreds of young men to Rwanda, then that will be a deterrent.

“This issue alone will do it, not to mention the economy.”
More than 250 people arrived in Dover over the bank holiday weekend, according to Sky News, after an 11-day break in crossings due to poor weather.
At least 6,947 people are thought to have made the trip so far in 2022, more than three times the number who traveled here by this time last year.
By the end of 2022, this figure is expected to reach nearly 60,000.
