A RAIL operator is warning passengers to expect delays after announcing emergency engineering work.
Southern Rail has announced that short-notice engineering work will take place between Haywards Heath and Brighton on Saturday evening.
It comes after Network Rail discovered a fault in a set of switches, moving sections of track, which need to be repaired.

Southern Rail is warning people to expect delays until Sunday morning.
A spokesperson said: ‘To minimize disruption to journeys, this is taking place overnight, when a limited train service will be operating.
“From around 10pm on Saturday evening until 9am on Sunday morning, Southern and Thameslink trains to and from Brighton will be changed.”
Trains will not stop at the following stations:
- Wivelsfield
- Burgess Hill Ottomans
- Preston Park
Most trains will run non-stop between Brighton and Haywards Heath via Lewes.
