Tesco is the latest supermarket giant to recall a range of chicken products over fears they may be contaminated with salmonella.
Major supermarkets and retailers across the UK have issued an urgent ‘DO NOT EAT’ warning amid fears of salmonella food poisoning.
A range of ready-to-eat foods including sandwiches, wraps and salads on the risk of food poisoning.
Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Pret A Manger, Marks & Spencer and Waitrose have all taken the “precautionary measure” over salmonella fears.
What happens if you catch salmonella?
Salmonella infection usually causes diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Symptoms can begin six hours to six days after infection and can last up to a week.

Food standards agency advises Tesco customers
The Food Standards Agency said: “The products listed above may be contaminated with salmonella. Symptoms of salmonella typically include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
“The action taken by Cranswick Country Foods is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be posted at all retail stores that carry these products. These notices tell customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what do. do if they purchased the above products.”
He added: “Our advice to consumers If you have purchased the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.”
