The goal of National Kids’ Gardening Week is to get kids’ hands dirty and show them that they appreciate nature and culture.
Starting May 28 and running through June 5, Green Thumb Week celebrates the fun that gardens bring to children as well as the benefits for parents, grandparents, schools or gardening businesses.

National Children’s Gardening Week was the brainchild of Neil Grant, Managing Director of Ferndale Garden Center near Sheffield, who is also BBC Radio Sheffield’s garden expert and co-presenter of their weekly Garden Phone, and it is widely supported by the whole of the garden industry in the UK. .
It’s now an annual festival of fun that’s embraced in homes, schools and community groups across the country, and supports the amazing charity Greenfingers, which is dedicated to providing magical gardens for children in hospices suffering from life-limiting diseases.
