This Morning’s Phillip and Holly embroiled in tense clash with Bev Turner over cost of living UK News

Things got rather complicated this Thursday morning as hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were embroiled in a spat with studio guest Beverley Turner as viewers criticized her views online.

Former Formula 1 host Bev is a regular contributor to the ITV daytime show, but her opinions have been known to rub viewers the wrong way. as well as a sparkling controversy in the studio. And she got on the wrong side of presenters Phillip and Holly during a cost-of-living discussion, as the duo presented their last show of the week and families were thrown into financial hardship due to soaring energy prices.

Bev joined fellow guest Tom Swarbrick for the debate, which opened with Holly saying: “It’s a desperate time and then you hear stories like this and it’s one of the saddest stories that I’ve never heard of…Parents living in McDonalds with their kids because of skyrocketing prices they buy as little food as they can justify People have even seen families brushing their teeth in these restaurants and that is the reality of the situation we are facing.

Seeming to disagree with what Holly said, Bev replied: “It’s terrible but we also have – and I’m going to sound incredibly insensitive now – but we also have a huge shortage of jobs, we have more availability for jobs right now than we ever had before.”

After listening to Bev’s point, Holly asked, “And who pays for the babysitting?” Bev replied: “If the kids aren’t school age Holly I totally agree it’s really hard. But if your kids are in school all day I’m sorry I don’t just don’t think…”

Like co-presenter Holly, Phillip didn’t seem impressed with Bev’s take on the crisis, telling her, “But it seems rather callous, because the mere fact of what Holly said they were at McDonald’s with their kids, so those kids might not be of school age, so what else do you do?”

Bev didn’t give a straight answer to Phillip’s question, leading him to add, “‘I mean basically you just say ‘go out and get a job.’ Like Phillip and Holly, the people watching at home weren’t in love. with Bev’s stance, with a tweet: “Honestly can’t believe what Bev Turner just said. People who have jobs use food banks etc, not just people on benefits. Amazing , I am furious.”

Another reacted: “Bev Turner just made herself look stupid didn’t you. Go out and get a job huh? Even if you have young children to take care of which will take par half of the money you make. Why is she on TV? Oh yeah, because SHE is probably making a fortune.”
