Open prison allows offenders to be released under certain circumstances to enable their reintegration into society as they come to the end of their sentence.
But three detainees who were allowed out are now missing.
These include Nasir Ali, 42, who was convicted of conspiracy to murder, and Steven Wagstaff, who was jailed for assault under Section 18.
South Yorkshire Police continue to seek any information that may bring the three wanted men back into custody.

– Tyler Wilson, 22, is serving a custodial sentence at HMP Hatfield for an assault under Section 18. CCTV footage shows Wilson leaving the open jail at around 7.23pm on May 9. He didn’t come back. Wilson is known to have ties to the Wheatleys and the Barnby Dun areas. He is described as white, about 5ft 9in tall with short brown hair. If you have any information that could help the police search, call 101 quoting incident number 965 from May 9. Hatfield on the night between October 18 and October 19, 2020. He did not return. Ali, 42, is Asian and described as thin with a shaved head. He is known to have ties across Sheffield, as well as Leeds and Manchester. Ali was serving an indeterminate sentence after being convicted of conspiracy to murder and firearms offenses in 2009.
If you see him, do not approach but rather call 999 immediately.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, call 101, quoting incident number 909 from October 20. – Steven Wagstaff, 34, was serving an indefinite sentence for theft when he fled HMP Hatfield at 8.10pm on January 10, 2021.
He is white and described as being of average height, standing about 6 feet tall with short, cropped, brown hair.
Wagstaff has a scar on his left hand and a tattoo that says “Leah”.
We think he might be in the Leeds area.
If you see Wagstaff, do not approach but instead call 999 immediately.
