Brighton Marathon announces changes to 2023 route Brighton News

The organizers of the Brighton Marathon have announced that the route for the 2023 race has been changed.

Grounded Events, the organizers of the Brighton Marathon weekend, today announced they are ‘saying goodbye to Shoreham Harbour’ for the 2023 event.

The change will see the section of Basin Road through Shoreham Harbor removed and more of the earlier miles moved to other routes in Hove, following runners’ requests.

A spokesperson for Grounded Events said: “Over the years we have received requests from our runners to alter the course at miles 20-23 of the Brighton Marathon course.

“While we’ve had our hands tied on what we can do logistically in the past, we’re excited to announce exciting plans for route changes in April.”

“Discover even more encouragement, motivation and atmosphere to help you complete the 26.2 miles.”

The Basin Road stretch through Shoreham Harbor has been part of the marathon since the first event in 2010.
