A MAN has been airlifted to hospital following a serious collision between two cars which closed a road for seven hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses for the crash at Crowborough Hill, Crowborough at around 4.25pm on Monday May 23.
A blue Volkswagen Golf collided with a black BMW near the junction with Church Road.
Following the collision, the driver of the blue Volkswagen, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with what were thought to be serious life-threatening injuries. These injuries are no longer life-threatening, but he remains in hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 40-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
The road was closed for about seven hours while emergency services attended.
Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dash cam footage that could assist officers in their investigation are asked to report to police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting Operation Marchwood.
