Planet Circus in search of trainee clown as traveling show lands in Sunderland UK News

A well-known traveling circus is looking for an apprentice clown to be its next big top star.

Planet Circus, who travel the UK every year with their incredible performances and jaw-dropping exploits, have taken to social media to announce that they are looking for a new recruit to join their resident band Andreea.

In a post shared on their Facebook page, Planet Circus wrote, “WANTED! ASSISTANT CLOWN FOR THE FUNNIEST ACT EVER!

“Do you think you are funny? Do people tell you that you have “funny bones”? Our international clown Andreea is looking for an ‘extremely funny’ trainee clown to help her perform the UK’s funniest act!

“We are at Rainton Arena this week and need someone ASAP! Why not nominate a friend or family member or even yourself and be part of the UK’s funniest clown act EVER! Please share and help Andreea find her fun partner!”

Planet Circus has reportedly been looking for a new intern for several years, but the global Covid pandemic has placed strict restrictions on the way the organization operates. However, with restrictions completely removed in the entertainment industry, major circuses are once again able to interview and recruit new talent.

Opening up further on the exciting opportunity, Planet Circus PA Jo McMullan, told Chronicle Live: “Andreea had wanted an assistant for a few years now but Covid hit so she wasn’t allowed any interaction with anyone. either outside the circus for maintenance and practice with.

“Now that things have calmed down, she would like someone to join her as she has some new gags that she can’t wait to try but needs another clown to help her out.”

Planet Circus will begin its six-show stint at Rainton Arena tonight (May 24) – performing each night until Sunday (May 29).
