A road in Bath is believed to have been closed due to an accident this evening (Thursday June 2).
The A4 at Newbridge Road, near the Boathouse pub and Newbridge Park & Ride, was reportedly closed to traffic by police following the collision.
An eyewitness who drove by the accident said: “I was just driving and the bridge near the Boathouse in Bath between Newbridge and the dual carriageway to Bristol was closed by the police due to an accident. “

It is not known at this stage how many cars were involved in the collision or if anyone was injured.
Travel Somerset reports congestion in the area and traffic is urged to seek alternative routes.
It is unclear at this stage exactly how long the road will be closed.
