The 10 Best Fun Used Cars for 2022 Car News

£5,000 to £30,000: A lot of nonsense is told by people who have never driven one: they are beautiful old cars. Comfortable too. Don’t confuse a B with a Caterham: it rolls around corners and isn’t fast. But it’s sporty in its own way, has one of the best exhaust notes, and if you buy right, it’ll be strong and loyal. And you’ll be part of a great like-minded community that has a lot going on every summer.

£6,000 to £50,000: Where are you going on vacation this year? Probably easier not to leave the country. If you’re smart, there are plenty of remote places in the UK where a family of up to five can take a VeeWee. Older air-cooled Type 2 models are still very much in vogue, but they’re slow and prices are heavily inflated by classicism. But all VW motorhomes, old and new, have good residue, so your money is pretty safe.

Later T5 examples are also excellent to drive. They’re pretty quiet, very reliable, steer well and ride smooth (unless you prefer one of the lowered, sporty examples) and there are 4×4 models too, but at premium prices. Best of all is the view as you ride. (You’re sitting higher than in a Range Rover.) Well, if you’re going to see the world, you might as well have the best view possible.
