A key road near Glastonbury will close overnight for up to six days this summer, for sewage works. The A361 via Pilton will be closed from July 18-23, sending overnight drivers on a diversion more than 20 miles long.
The route passes through Wells and Glastonbury and should take around 40 minutes. According to a newspaper on One Network, the road closure will stretch from the A361 East Compton road, through Whitstone Hill, to Park Hill.
Between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., drivers who would normally pass through Pilton will need to find an alternative way to reach their destination. Travel Somerset suggested a 33.9km long route.
