Gavin and Stacey fans have been praying hard since recent photos surfaced featuring two of the show’s most important characters.
Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, who played Gavin’s parents, were seen filming scenes at Barry Island in Wales, the location made famous by the hit BBC show.
The duo were spotted relaxing on deckchairs as they filmed an advert for gift shop, Barrybados, which sells Gavin & Stacey accessories.

They also held up signs as they sipped hot drinks from their mugs, as well as enjoying ice cream at a beachfront cafe.
Fans of the show immediately took to social media to express their excitement about the possibility of the reunion and what the future holds for more episodes of Gavin and Stacey.
One user couldn’t contain her excitement as she tweeted, “GAVIN AND STACEY FANS – THIS IS NOT A DRILL – THEY ARE SHOOTING A NEW SERIES(?)!!!”
A second user replied with emotion: “Please hope it goes #GavinandStacey Pam and Mick spotted in Barry”

The last Gavin and Stacey episode that aired was in 2019, when the Christmas episode ended on a cliffhanger, when Nessa (played by Ruth Jones) asked Smithy (played by James Corden) about the marry.

However, since then viewers haven’t found out what happened next, and since James Corden’s recent announcement of his return to the UK, there could be hope for the return of the iconic series.
While actor and comedian Rob Brydon has revealed he has “no burning desire” to reprise his well-known role as Uncle Bryn, BBC bosses have confirmed that Gavin and Stacey will “one day” return.
Discussing the upcoming Christmas TV programme, the channel’s chief content officer, Charlotte Moore, gave an update on the future of the BBC One sitcom.
She said, “It wasn’t something that was going to happen this year,” followed by “Someday.”
