Sussex skygazers spot Strawberry Supermoon Brighton News

SKYGAZERS across Sussex spotted yesterday’s Strawberry Super Moon in the sky above the county.

The supermoon, the last full moon of spring, saw the moon appear with an orange hue and slightly larger in the sky due to its closer proximity to earth.

People from across Sussex took photos of the event last night, with stunning images of the supermoon near the West Pier, in the sky above Newhaven and as it rose above- above the South Downs.

The event is known as the Strawberry Moon because it is the full moon when the strawberries are harvested.

The next full moon on July 13, known as the male moon, will also be a supermoon due to its proximity to Earth.
