Firefighters were called to report smoke billowing from a kitchen window this afternoon.
Two fire engines drove into an office in Apex Way, Hailsham at 12.32pm.
The fire appears to have been extinguished upon arrival.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) crews from Eastbourne and Hailsham used a thermal camera but were unable to start any fires.
An ESFRS spokeswoman said: ‘We were called at 12.32pm to a commercial premises on Apex Way, Hailsham following reports of smoke coming out of the kitchen of the premises.
“Eastbourne and Hailsham firefighters attended. Firefighters investigated the building and used a thermal camera, but were unable to start a fire.
“We left the premises at 1:18 p.m..”
