A new thriller has been launched at a Barnet library after its author raised £500 for library funds.
Creative writing tutor Sandra Turner launched her book A Grave Mistake at the Friern Barnet Community Library.
Sandra Turner, from Finchley, has been involved in the community volunteering and fundraising at the library while running a weekly mental health support group for seven years.

As a volunteer at the library, Sandra took a creative writing course where she developed her first novel.
Now that she has published her own work, she teaches creative writing workshops at the Friern Barnet Community Library.

His first published work was a series of short stories titled “11 Stories on the Go”.
His latest book “A Grave Mistake” is a thriller.
Participants at the book launch were able to have their copy signed by Sandra.
As a passionate volunteer and author with severe visual impairment, Sandra is also passionate about raising awareness about vision loss and mental health.
She also co-hosts a weekly mental health support group with her partner.
About her new career, Sandra said: ‘Never give up on your dreams, no matter how hard the road is or no matter how old you are, mine are the reason I am where I am today’ today.”
