Chris Lowe: The Pet Shop Boys member fails to take the stage at Glastonbury and social media explodes Bath City News

The Pet Shop Boys perform their first Glastonbury performance since 2010 tonight (June 26). However, the iconic duo started their set without half their act as Chris Lowe didn’t take the stage.

Fans of the duo immediately took to social media to react to the situation as Neil Tennant was scheduled to perform alone. Most Twitter users wondered where he was, while others worried about Chris Lowe.

Many theories have been floated by other fans as they seek to explain his absence. @donneheid suggested, “Never one to avoid a good suit, Chris Lowe came in as Long Covid.”

@Flying_Inside took the band’s name to heart and said: “People ask where Chris Lowe is for this set – try to keep in mind that their main business is the pet shop and it just has to come first on their musical sideline.”

Lowe finally appeared on stage, but no explanation has yet been offered for his absence. Neil Tennant had mentioned a “technical difficulty”.
