Recent research has revealed that Taunton is the fifth luckiest postcode area in England. This is based on Postcode Lottery winning statistical data since January 2011.
SolitaireBliss research studied postcode data from lottery.co.uk to determine the luckiest places in England, based on the number of postcode lottery wins per 100,000 people in each area.
Taunton (TA) is the only area of the county that makes the list and has been dubbed the luckiest in Somerset.

The city ranks fifth with 81 wins per 100,000. It is 52% higher than the UK national average. This equates to 261 wins for an estimated population of 322,197.
Speaking on the results, a spokesperson for SolitaireBliss said: “Postcodelottery.co.uk claims that over two-thirds of postcodes in Britain are playing, with winners announced each day. So why are some regions luckier than others?
“Some of the reasons may be due to the number of players entered for each postcode, so nine entries for one postcode will have a higher chance of winning the Postcode Millions prize than one person entering their postcode alone.
“This doesn’t apply to any other prizes though, so for those postcode areas that have better than average luck when it comes to winning the £30,000 prize, there’s likely to be more individual postcodes registered in the region than are usually seen elsewhere in Britain.”
So if you live in the Taunton area, you might have a chance of winning the next postcode lottery.
