Former police officer Liam Mills, who was stationed in Barnsley, has been charged with two counts of misconduct in public office and a data protection breach.
The charges follow an internal report to South Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Department of “concerns about an inappropriate relationship with a female victim of crime”.
The 34-year-old is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on June 29.
