MG has revealed pricing and specifications for the new MG 4 electric family hatchback ahead of its launch next month.
The Volkswagen ID 3 rival will be available with a 51 kWh or 64 kWh battery.
Priced at £25,995, it offers two spec levels: SE and Trophy.
The entry-level SE car uses the smallest battery for a range of up to 218 miles. It comes with automatic LED headlights, climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard, plus MG’s Pilot Safety system.
All cars come with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 7.0-inch driver display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
SE cars can also be fitted with the Long Range Battery, bringing the list price to £28,495 and boosting range to 281 miles.
The long-range cars benefit from an active grille shutter system which MG claims improves airflow and increases aerodynamic efficiency by up to 30% and therefore range by 10%.
The top-spec Trophy car starts at £31,495 and comes with the largest 64kWh battery for a range of 270 miles.
It comes with enhanced safety features including blind spot detection, traffic alerts and lane change assist. The other kit includes rear privacy glass, rear spoiler, two-tone roof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, satellite navigation system, keyless entry and 360 degree camera.
“Our first all-electric sedan will offer unrivaled interior space and functionality, with a level of equipment typically expected from manufacturers of high-end, performance electric vehicles,” said Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director of MG.
“We believe our new MG 4 EV will be an attractive proposition for customers looking for an affordable electric car without compromise.
“The potential of the innovative modular upgradable platform is huge and should deliver exciting new MGs over the next few years.”
The 4 will offer six color options at launch: Arctic White, Holborn Blue, Black Pearl, Camden Grey, Volcano Orange (pictured), and Dynamic Red.
No performance figures have yet been officially released.
Each 4 will be sold with a seven year warranty as standard.
