The Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race saw 11 teams plunge into the River Ouse with their homemade craft.
Teams decorated their vessels to the theme “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, with designs ranging from the Titanic to a Barbie-inspired pink boat.
Nine of the rafts managed to complete the course, with a team from Highams Farm taking the crown in this year’s race.
Spectators lined the route to cheer on the teams, with some even pouring water on the rafts as they passed under a bridge.
Onlookers and participants were raising money for the Newhaven Lifeboat and Sussex Search and Rescue.
Lewes Round Table, organisers of the raft race, encouraged people to continue to donate and thanked those who took part.
A spokesman for the group said: “A special thanks on the day go to Sussex Search and Rescue for their boat safety crew and land-based safety crew and also to the marine training corps that provided help with collections, marshalling and first aid cover.”
