Shocking drone pictures show flooding at A259 and caravan park Brighton News

Bognor has been hit by some of the worst flooding in the county following Storm Ciaran last week.

New drone photographs in today’s sunny weather have shown the full extent of the flooding.

The Aldingbourne Rife at Bersted has overtopped its banks and nearby Addison Way, the Riverside Caravan Park and the South Bersted industrial estate are all flooded.

Near Felpham, there is a flood warning in place at Lidsey Rifes, including the Whitfield Close, the A259 and Links Avenue.

Butlin’s holiday park is also in the flood warning zone.

Flood warnings are in place for much of the area.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “Flooding is expected in these areas. This means properties are at risk of flooding.   Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions. Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have.”

Bognor’s Tesco Superstore in Shripney Road remains closed as the car park is completely flooded.
