Thameslink Brent Cross West station opening date announced UK News

Brent Cross West, located between Cricklewood and Hendon stations on the Midland Mainline, will be operational from December 10.

Thameslink services will connect the new station to central London, with journey times taking as little as 12 minutes.

At peak times, up to eight trains an hour will pass through the station, providing links to Luton Airport and the Elizabeth line via Farringdon.

A new overbridge at the station will connect areas of Barnet and Brent, providing the first pedestrian access across this stretch of the Midland Mainline.

A new neighbourhood called Brent Cross Town is planned as part of a wider development around the station.

Spanning 180-acres and developed in partnership with Barnet Council and Related Agents, the area will deliver 6,700 new homes and office space for 25,000 workers, alongside a new high street.

Cllr Alan Schneiderman, Barnet Council’s cabinet member for environment and climate change, and Cricklewood ward member, said: “The new Brent Cross West station is fundamental to our plans to transform the local area.

“We look forward to this impressive new station opening soon, providing new ways for people to visit our brilliant borough and additional, sustainable ways for local people to travel.”
