In a statement, police said the man was shot several times in the legs after two suspects forced their way into his home around 11 p.m. in the Whitethorn Drive neighborhood.
Police in Northern Ireland said in a statement: “Shortly before 11pm, it was reported that two men broke into a house and shot a male occupant repeatedly in his legs.
“The man is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.”
Police have appealed for information, asking anyone who could assist with police investigations to contact Strand Road officers on 101 quoting the reference number 2038 or information may also be released anonymously by through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
