How To Disable NHS Digital Data Sharing | United Kingdom | New UK News

NHS Digital will also collect data on the gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation of patients, as well as data on the staff who have treated patients.

However, the service will not collect name and address data except for postcode data in a “unique coded form”.

Written notes, such as details of conversations with medical staff, will not be flagged, nor will pictures, letters and documents.

Coded data not required due to age is not collected, such as information on medicines older than 10 years.

Some data, including fertility treatments and sex reassignment records, cannot be shared by general practitioners by law.
