Runaway monkey reunited with his family after the adventure of the station | UK News

A fleeing monkey has been reunited with its owners after being found at a train station near Glasgow.

Scotrail appealed on social media after the primate was discovered at Cambuslang station on Saturday afternoon, calling on its owners to get in touch.

“I have dealt with lost phones, purses and glasses over the years, but this is definitely a first,” the operator tweeted.

“If you’ve lost your monkey … he’s waiting for Cambuslang’s next service to town.”

Hours later, the family had been found and the monkey – believed to be a marmoset – was brought home.

“That’s good news folks,” the operator tweeted.

“This little guy has reunited with his family.

“Here he is one last time eating a box of fruit. I can believe he had a can opener!”

The RSPCA says marmoset monkeys are the most common primate species kept and marketed as pets.
