Horden homes targeted in two alleged arson attacks said to be linked UK News

Police are investigating two suspected arson attacks on homes in County Durham.

Officers were first called to a Fifth Street address in Horden at around 11:15 p.m. Monday where units of the fire department were grappling with a house fire.

Shortly after arriving at the scene, officers were alerted to a second fire that had broken out at a Fourth Street home.

No one was injured in the fires and the two fires are believed to be linked.

Inspector Emma Kay of the Peterlee Ward Police Team said: “More officers will be patrolling the area, which I hope will reassure residents.

“I would ask that if anyone has any information that can assist us in our investigation, they contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone who has witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage of the area is asked to contact DS Ford-Stubbs of Peterlee CID on 101.
