Filming of the second series of ITV’s Grace underway in Brighton and Hove Brighton News

Filming for the second series of ITV’s Grace is underway in the streets of Brighton and Hove.

Camera crews were pictured on New Road, Brighton, on Friday ahead of the highly anticipated return of the hit show.

Grace, an adaptation of Sussex author Peter James’ internationally successful book, Dead Simple, is one of ITV’s most successful dramas with over eight million people tuned in to watch the first series.

A team was seen installing cameras, sound equipment and lighting in Brighton city center on Friday afternoon.

The series stars Life on Mars actor John Simm as the protagonist, fictional detective Roy Grace.

Series producer Kiaran Murray-Smith shared a photo on Twitter of the film crew gathered on a street in Brighton.

He wrote: “# Grace2 is finishing its first week of filming. Thank you to all of the participants for making it possible for us to get here! #garderlocal. ”

Peter also took to social media to share the news of his return and hinted that he may make a guest appearance.

The tweet read: “#ITVGrace has resumed filming. If you’re on the go to #Brighton, you might get to catch a glimpse of the cast and crew in action! There will also be a very exciting cameo in Series 2 … who could it be.

The second series will consist of three 120-minute films – Not Dead Enough, Dead Man’s Footsteps and Dead Tomorrow.

Grace’s first series was filmed in Brighton and Hove last year with landmarks in the city – including Hove’s piers and beach huts – playing a starring role in the adaptation.

Writer Russell Lewis said: “After the overwhelmingly positive audience response to Black Seaside’s Dead Simple and Looking Good Dead Ready to Go, all of the Roy Grace team are thrilled to have had the opportunity. from ITV to return to Brighton (and Hove, for that matter!) to continue Roy’s story with a new series of films based on the bestselling Peter James novels.

“We will be touring from our Brighton HQ and all along and around the South Coast from late summer to very late fall.

He said the shoot “could well take place on a street near you” and told fans to keep their eyes peeled.
