A Ryanair customer shared a money-saving tip that could help you cut £50 off your plane ticket every time you book.

When booking with budget airlines, ticket prices are often not the only cost that will affect you.

There may also be an additional charge for adding hand luggage.

However, TikToker scholar Cloda Scanlon (@orangeobviously) cleverly shared her tip for saving extra money when booking a flight.

What’s the smart tip?

When you go on a weekend, a 20kg bag is not always necessary, but Ryanair does not provide free 10kg hand luggage and you have to add it as an extra.

The first option on the Ryanair website when booking travel asks you to choose your seats and baggage requirements.

However, if you wait and select “cheap fare”, an option appears later to add baggage.

What did the Tik Tok say?

In the video, Cloda said: “If you want to save between €40 (£33) and €60 (£50) on your next Ryanair flight plus that 10kg bag, then keep listening.

“So I almost paid €192 (£161) for my flights and instead, for the exact same flight with exactly the same number of bags, I will only pay €133 (£111).

“So go into the Ryanair app and do the business as usual – choose your flights, choose your dates.

“Instead, go back to the booking page and choose the low rate”, which does not include a 10 kg bag.

When you click on continue, you are redirected to another page where you can manually add the 10 kg for only 13 €.

Cloda added “it’s instead of what was €22 (£18.50) per person per trip, so go with a small bag and the bargain fare, then go all the way to the end of the page of reservation” and click on the 10 kg option.
