McVite’s is putting a new spin on one of its classic treats with the launch of White Chocolate Jaffa Cakes.
The release comes after years of requests for an alternate version of the popular snack, but it will only be available for a limited time.
The cookie company announced the launch on Instagram and confirmed that it would only release 40 boxes of the new flavor.
The new version still features the classic orange flavored center and light spongy layer of the original, but replaces the dark chocolate base with a silky white chocolate coating.
Alice Jamieson, Brand Manager at McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes, said: “The Jaffanatics have spoken and we have listened.
“We couldn’t be more excited to launch this competition and offer forty lucky Jaffanatics the chance to see their Jaffa dreams come true and be the first to try our edition white chocolate Jaffa cakes. limited.”
How can I get white chocolate Jaffa cakes?
Fans will need to enter a contest to get their hands on a limited-edition pack via McVite’s Jaffa Cakes official Instagram, @jaffacakesofficial.
The caption to the post reads: “The moment you’ve all been dreaming of…we went and made white chocolate Jaffa cakes for you! And YOU can WIN some.
“We’re giving you a chance to WIN 1 of 40 limited edition #jaffadreamsdocometrue packs”.
To stand a chance of winning, fans must like the contest post on @jaffacakesoffical on Instagram and tag the person they would most like to share Jaffa cakes with.
The competition is open until Monday May 2 and the winners will be drawn on Tuesday May 3.
McVitie’s White Chocolate Jaffa Cakes aren’t currently available on shelves, and the company has yet to reveal if the new flavor will eventually become a permanent fixture.
In the meantime, fans can still enjoy the Original Orange, Cheeky Cherry, and the recently relaunched Lemon and Lime flavor.
