Evelyn Bowman – Shiremoor
Peacefully on May 8 at the age of 90, Evelyn (née Robson). Beloved wife of the late Charles, dear mother to Rosalynn and Deborah and sons-in-law Ian and Paul and a beloved grandmother to Gillian, Russell, Natasha and the late Craig and great-grandchildren Lewis and Eva.
Joan Dunn – Ponteland
Passed away peacefully in hospital on May 25, 2022, aged 90. Beloved wife of the late Alan, beloved mother of Gillian. Joan will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Harry Campbell – Shiremoor
Peacefully hospitalized on May 29 at the age of 84, Harry. Beloved husband to Libby, dear father to Teresa, Catherine, Paul, Vicky and Colin and son-in-law Michael, beloved grandfather to Gemma, Lynnsey, Jasmin and Amy and a loving great-grandfather.
Joan Redpath – Ponteland
Peacefully hospitalized on June 2 at the age of 87. Jean (born Greally). Beloved wife of Pierre. Also an adoring mum to Stephen, Kathryn and Lynn and a treasured grandmother to Daniel, Sam and Zara, also a cherished great-grandmother. Jean will be greatly missed by the whole family.
Robbie (Bob) Usher – Fatfield, Washington.
Peacefully hospitalized on June 3 at the age of 80. Robbie, beloved husband of the late Dot, beloved dad to Gillian and John, beloved grandfather to Sam, Tom, Anya, Connor and Brianna and also a dear great-grandfather.
Helen McVey Dowson – Gateshead
Peacefully hospitalized after a long illness on June 3, 2022 at the age of 63, Helen, beloved wife of Ged and guardian angel of Lyndsay, Reece and Lewis, beloved sister of Betty, Joe and the late Alison. Helen will be sadly missed by all of her loving family.
June Thomas (née Milner) – Blakelaw
Peacefully in hospital after a life well lived with his loving family by his side on Friday May 27 in his 89th year. June, beloved daughter of the late Vi and Joe, faithful wife of the late Ken, loving mother of her four boys Paul, Mark, Neil and Kevin and mother-in-law of Gill, Claire and Paul’s partner Marion, proud Nana of Haley, Amy, Molly, Jacob, Seren, Jenny and Grant, a much loved sister to Roy, Billy and the late Derek. Also a wonderful sister-in-law, aunt and great-grandmother. As a special friend to so many, June stood out for her long-lasting friendships that testify to the joy, loyalty, and magnetism June had for people. You will be missed so much by all who knew you. On behalf of your boys, your family and all your friends (too numerous to mention), we want to let you know that we are all truly blessed, grateful and honored to have been a part of your presence on Earth and that you will live in all of us forever. Thanks Mom.
Margaret Elizabeth Oliver – Montagu Estate, Kenton
Suddenly but peacefully at home with her loving family nearby on Tuesday May 31, 2022 at the age of 63, Margaret. Beloved wife of Ken, loving mum to Samantha, Kenny, Sophie and Elizabeth and stepmother to David Smith, David Milburn and Sean Howe, proud daughter of Leo, Chole, Lillie, Jack, Bradley and Oliver and a special friend of so much.
Mary Elizabeth Dowd (Cullen)
Passed away peacefully after a short illness on June 1 at Kenton Manor Care Home, aged 90. Beloved mother to Stephen and loving aunt for three generations. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends.
Dorothy Porteous (née Danskin) – Ryton
Peacefully hospitalized on June 2, 2022, at the age of 88. Much loved and loving wife of the late Bill, wonderful mother to Alyson and Symon, stepmother to John and Fiona, much loved grandmother to Andrew, Ruben and Sam.
Ronald (Ron) Wesley – Jesmond
Peacefully hospitalized on June 6, 2022, at the age of 87. Ron, beloved husband of Stephanie, father of Linda, Michael, Melanie and Fiona, a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather to all his grandchildren.
Renee Hird (née Thompson) – Consett formerly of Langley Park
Passed away peacefully at UHND on May 29, 2022 at the age of 92. Sadly will be missed by all his family and friends.
