UK travel chaos LIVE: M62 shut, St Pancras mobbed as Brits in last dash home for Christmas | UK | News UK News

Major engineering work is being carried out at some of London’s biggest stations, further adding to the disruption.

These are the stations affected:

King’s Cross. No services will be running at this station due to improvement work on Christmas Eve. National Rail says the closure will “significantly affect” journeys on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh, Leeds, Newcastle, York, Peterborough and many others.Paddington. The station is closed for major improvement work on Christmas Eve and Wednesday December 27. The journeys affected are those to and from South Wales Bristol, the West Country and the Thames Valley.Victoria. No Southeastern services will be running between Saturday December 23 and January 1 inclusive. Southeastern trains will use alternative London stations.Liverpool Street. Services heading to Norwich, Ipswich and Colechester will be disrupted through the Chelmsford area between December 27 and January 1.Heathrow Airport. There is no direct National Rail services to or from central London between Christmas Eve and 27 December inclusive.
