Met Office forecasts snow for Sussex and Brighton Brighton News

The Met Office forecast shows the city could see light snow at 7am, 9am, 12pm and 3pm. In Petworth, snow is expected at lunch time and between 4pm and 7pm.

Worthing should get some light snow between 8am and 1pm and then later in the afternoon. In Wych Cross, East Sussex, heavy snow is forecast between 3am and 12pm.

It comes as the weather service issued a yellow weather warning for ice in parts of Surrey, Kent and Sussex from 4am until 10am.

It said there could be 1 to 3cm of snow locally in the South East region and warned icy patches could cause disruption.

In Sussex, the warning covers from Petworth in the west, to beyond Crowborough in the east and up to Crawley.

The Met Office forecast for Monday says: “Snow showers expected, these mainly across eastern areas. Wintry showers may spread west through the day. Dry overnight. Feeling very cold with brisk winds, strong towards coasts. Maximum temperature 4 °C.”

Last time it snowed in the county was on the morning of Thursday, November 30, when weather radars showed light to moderate dustings of snow in Brighton, Worthing, Littlehampton, Falmer and Horsted Keynes.
