BMW exhibits the best of its sporty silverware by presenting the M3 and M4 Competions and the M4 Convertible in live streaming. An event dedicated to the Munich media that gave the German manufacturer a lot of satisfaction, especially in the M configuration, the most thriving.
The design of the new M4 Convertible very similar to that of sisters 3 and 4 with the only obvious difference of the sunroof. Compared to before, the performance has increased significantly. In the current range, the flagship model is the M440i xDrive Convertible powered by a 374 hp in-line six-cylinder petrol engine. There are also two four-cylinder petrol units and a four-cylinder diesel in the range. Two more in-line six-cylinder diesel engines will follow later in 2021.
The price lists start at 61,000 euros: a figure of a premium car that mixes sportiness and elegance even in the interior. The front sports seats are electrically adjustable, the upholstery is in Vernasca leather, the seats are heated, while the two rear seats have a single shape. The M4 Convertible does not lose sight of functionality: for example, the variable compartment of the roof allows you to increase the capacity of the luggage compartment from 300 liters (80 more than before) up to 385 liters when the roof is closed.
The M3 now in its sixth generation. It has long had four doors but can boast a bewitching and dynamic design like few other premium mid-range models. Available with rear or all-wheel drive, the usual family villain designed to ensure maximum fun. Very complete standard equipment and the usual possibility of encyclopedic customization. The mechanics takes another important leap forward: the M3 Competion mounts a three-liter six-cylinder engine with 510 HP and 650 Nm of torque, associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Performance indicates a top speed of 290 km / h with acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3.9 seconds.A lot of substance obviously has a price. The M3 Competition just pierces the 100,000 euro wall: 100,400 euro to be exact.
The M4 closes this delightful parterre which compared to the M3 has two fewer doors and a design that especially in the rear area is distinguished by the inclined pillars that enhance its sportiness. The optional carbon-ceramic brakes. The mechanics are basically that of the 510 hp M4 Competition, but the price is a little higher: 101,000 euros. Noblesse oblige.
