DAL-e, the robot in the dealership to welcome and serve customers – Corriere.it

the customer service robot arrived. Hyundai Motor Group has in fact launched DAL-e, an advanced robot designed to welcome visitors to dealerships and capable of communicating independently with people, using precise recognition and mobility capabilities. DAL – is the acronym for Drive you, Assist you, Link with you-experience (guide you, assist you and connect with you) and was developed as a first experiment for a future based on automated customer services. DAL-e equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to recognize faces and an automatic communication system based on a language understanding platform. DAL – is a next-generation service platform – said Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of the Robotics Lab of Hyundai Motor Group – with a very high degree of customization. We are working to ensure that they play an increasingly important role within the sales system.

It moves on four wheels Hyundai Motor Group has announced the inaugural presentation of DAL-e at the House’s main showroom in Seoul, where the robot has begun its pilot operation. Following this phase, DAL-e will be used in various sectors that require daily interactions with customers, such as in other Hyundai and Kia showrooms. In terms of mobility, Dal-e can move freely by accompanying customers to different positions in the showroom through four omnidirectional wheels. In addition, he provides information such as vehicle characteristics and technologies by wirelessly connecting to a large screen in the showroom, inviting customers to take a picture with him, or reproducing gesture feedback with his own arms. Moral: the future for robots appears bright, that for old-fashioned car salesmen a little less.
