The boat builder and nautical giant Bénéteau is the victim of cyberattack, report France Bleu Loire Océan Friday February 19th. The group based in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (Vendée) has filed a complaint. All production sites, in Vendée and Bordeaux, are affected by the consequences of this cyberattack.

Bénéteau’s specialized services, assisted by cybersecurity experts, are trying to identify the origin and nature of this attack. Bénéteau’s communication department indicates that the company must “perform a precise analysis of the entire system, to determine what is affected and what is not, which takes a long time to achieve“.

Despite the shutdown of the computer system, production was able to proceed normally on Friday 19 since the workshops had the parts necessary for the pursuit of their activities. However, production is likely to experience difficulties from Monday 22 February. The company therefore asks its employees not to come and work on this date at all production sites.

In recent months, cyber attacks have multiplied in France against large companies but also hospitals. After those who touched the hospitals Dax (Landes) and Villefranche-sur-Saone (Rhône), Emmanuel Macron announced an envelope of one billion euros to strengthen the French cybersecurity sector.
