Covid-19: Moselle worries Germany

The decision to classify the Moselle as a high-risk area must be taken on Monday February 22 by the authorities in Germany. Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to approve it, according to several media reports. The consequence: an almost total closure of the border and the obligation to present a negative test for Covid-19 within 48 hours, including for border workers.

One hope remains

The idea is to block the spread of the virus which is currently circulating much more on the French side than on the German side. For the French, this is the dreaded dark scenario. There is still hope that the German region of the Saar will give up these very strict controls. The next few hours will be decisive for tens of thousands of cross-border workers.
