The European Parliament adopted a symbolic resolution proclaiming the European Union “zone of freedom” for LGBT people, in reaction to “zones without LGBT ideology” decided by a hundred Polish local authorities. “It is not about one community opposing another. It’s about all of us moving forward togetherMaltese MEP Roberta Metsola said.It is about your Europe too (…) our Union, this assembly, will protect this right“, she added.
German MEP Terry Reintke, co-chair of the LGBT intergroup of the European Parliament which carries this resolution, underlined that this decision was “a first step”.
