The teamOcean Viking, an SOS Mediterranean ambulance ship, rescued 106 people on Saturday March 20, including minors off the coast of Libya, the French NGO announced. The relief operation took place 34 nautical miles (63 kilometers) from the Libyan coast with a “inflatable boat in distress”, tweeted the association.

In detail, there were 31 men, 8 women, 67 minors – including 51 indicating to be unaccompanied –, said an official, adding that a woman fell unconscious during the operation. Thursday, theOcean Viking had already rescued 10 people including three children and a baby who were constantly vomiting, visibly suffering from dehydration. They are now out of danger, said the official.
