Former Gladiators star Jefferson King – known as “Shadow” on the show – was pictured in a police snap after admitting to being involved in a blackmail plot.
The single bodybuilder looks lean and very different from himself, having struggled with drug addiction for years.
The 59-year-old is currently in custody awaiting conviction after admitting two counts of blackmail.
Another man, Simon Batson, 38, also admitted the same charges.
King was a popular star of the 90s ITV show, which pitted audience members against athletes, and had an almost perfect duel record.
He was only beaten once in his gladiatorial career and was known for his incredibly muscular physique.
His career was ruined when he tested positive for steroids and was kicked from the show, around the same time his marriage broke down.
At the time, King admitted that he had taken steroids for five weeks, although he denied the allegations that he had taken cocaine.
The former bodybuilder has spoken before about his addiction issues, which started when he was a teenager.
